Danske placeren
Ik hou van mijn geboortestad, Gent. Ik hou van de sfeer, haar cafés. Maar op één gebied laat deze stad me in de steek.
Heb je ook zo van die dagen dat je echt zin hebt om een danske te placeren? Dat het ongelooflijk kriebelt om de heupen nog eens in beweging te zetten?
We kunnen naar de ‘Charlatan’ of ‘den Deca’ gaan. Heel hip dat zeker, en vooral de ‘juiste’ muziek. Maar soms is ‘juist’ zo fout, heb je even geen zin in de meest hippe vogels van Gent om je heen.
Dan smeekt mijn lijf om een goed ‘Britneyke’ of een lekkere George Michael. Geen ‘Fredo en Tang’ dan voor mij, maar eens goed met de kont draaien op zijn Shakiriaans.
De plaatselijke scoutsfuif lijkt op het eerste zicht nog een goed idee. Maar na een uurtje worden de ‘oma komt ook nog eens langs’-blikken me iets teveel. We bestellen nog een goedkoop pintje en maken dat we zo snel en ongezien mogelijk wegraken.
Alternatieven? Natuurlijk, ‘De planchee’ of ‘het geduld’ zijn er ook nog.
Heel fijn allemaal, zolang je erin slaagt om de iets te gretige blikken en schuimende lippen van het overjaarse publiek te negeren.
Neen, met de uitvijzerskoten hebben we het ook wel gehad.
Blijft nog over, een ‘8O’s night’, eens per jaar in een bekende cultuurtempel.
Lijkt het geen gat in de markt? Een leuke plek waar toffe jongens en meisjes eens de beentjes kunnen strekken op de muziek die een deel van hun jeugd bepaald heeft.
